Dolomite day tour from Verona and back

The majestic beauty of the Dolomites in a single, seamless day

From Roman roads to Alpine peaks: Lago di Carezza, Val di Fassa, Sass Pordoi and Val Gardena with Orisei: all in one day.

Hosting the Winter Olympics 2026, the Dolomites have officially ascended to global superstardom. These jagged, pale peaks are no longer just a hidden European gem—they are the "must-see" icons of the natural world.
And the best part? You can experience their majestic beauty in a single, seamless day starting right from your doorstep in Verona.

Why the "Dolomites"?

Ever wondered why these mountains look like glowing coral castles? They are named after the French mineralogist Déodat de Dolomieu, who discovered the unique composition of the rock: Dolomite. This ancient seabed-turned-mountain-range possesses a magical quality called Enrosadira—where the peaks turn fiery shades of pink, orange, and purple at sunrise and sunset.

09:00 AM Private Departure from Verona

Your professional driver greets you at your hotel in a luxury car or van. We leave the city behind and head north through the Adige Valley, a corridor of lush vineyards and historic castles, passing Trento as we enter the heart of South Tyrol.

In Bolzano, your local guide joins the party. From here, the road begins to climb toward Nova Levante, leading us to the "Rainbow Lake": Lago di Carezza. Its emerald waters reflect the Latemar spires like a crystal mirror—a perfect first photo stop.

Into the Ladin Heart: Val di Fassa

We enter the Val di Fassa, where the ancient Ladin culture and language still thrive. You’ll be surrounded by the monumental Rosengarten (Catinaccio) and Latemar groups cruising through the charming villages of Vigo di Fassa and Canazei.

The Roof of the World: Sass Pordoi

We ascend the hairpin turns to Passo Pordoi. Here, you’ll board the cable car to reach the "Terrace of the Dolomites" on the Sella Massif, sitting at a breathtaking 2,950 meters (9,678 ft) above sea level. From this vantage point, you will face the Marmolada, the undisputed Queen of the Dolomites, draped in her eternal glacier.

A Ladin Feast

Lunch is served at a traditional mountain rifugio of Passo Pordoi. Prepare your palate for authentic flavors such as:

  • Canederli: Savory bread dumplings with speck or cheese.
  • Casunziei: Moon-shaped pasta filled with beetroot and poppy seeds.
  • Apple Strudel: The gold standard of mountain desserts.
  • Kaiserschmarrn:a thick, fluffy shredded and crunchy caramelized pancake served with a side of tart plum or apple compote for the ultimate Alpine sweet reward.

Alpine Elegance: Val Gardena & Ortisei

After lunch, we cross the Sella Pass and descend into Val Gardena. We’ll stop in Ortisei (St. Ulrich), a picture-perfect South Tyrolean village where German and Ladin traditions blend. Enjoy a stroll through the woodcarving shops and a break at a local pastry shop for a slice of Austrian-style cake and coffee.

Evening Return

We head back to Bolzano where you leave your guide and drive you back to Verona, arriving around 6 PM
