It is not easy to be able to reach the northern part of the lake Garda from Verona city: what a pity!
We thought it was a good idea to make it possible, comfortable and safe.
Your private driver picks you up with car/minivan at your place and drives you to Castelletto di Brenzone, where you meet your professional mountain guide and nature expert. You are given a bottle of water and you are ready to reach the olive groves where your trek starts.
As long as you walk, the view opens up and you get to see more and more: the fjord-shaped water spotted with sails and surrounded by mountain peaks.
- Proceed along the gentle slopes into a pre-alpine vegetation
- Reach an almost abandoned, stone-built, ancient village, where asphalt roads never existed and where only a few locals still live
- Pause for taking photos, for learning about the geology of the place, the vegetation, the old life style of the area, the economy in the past
- Descend among the trees and the bushes towards the next little village
The hike is very easy and not demanding, but it makes you see the lake Garda as it used to be in the 1950s, before overtourism.
The total route is less than 3 miles (km. 2,4)
Max. altitude above sea level: 700 ft approx. (mt. 200)
Difference in altitude: 330 ft approx. (mt. 100)
At the end of the trek, you seat with your guide in a nice, small restaurant for well-deserved spaghetti!
After lunch the trek is over, but you still have some time with your guide to explore one of the most popular resort on the lake: the driver takes you to Malcesine where you walk around and have a lovely gelato to top your day.
In order to avoid any risks, the guide will decide a different route in the area in case of bad weather or other causes (traffic, special events).
